The software would only have been installed if you chose to install it from the Microsoft Store. You can uninstall File Viewer Plus like any other app in Windows 10. Please go to Settings -> Apps & features, select File Viewer Plus from the list, and click the Uninstall button.

The last I can recall was back in the DOS and early Windows days. There may still be one out there, but not fully developed around Windows 10 and with UI's that match the file type.
Well worth the upgrade cost for those of us that require this type of functionality all the time. I tried as many file types as I could and it opened them all, including things like Photoshop PSD, WAV, MP3, MP4, PDF, TIFF, various RAW files, Visio, other vector files like SVG. I also like the ability to keep the file information window pinned on the left side - perfect. And my all time favorite being viewing the file in HEX mode. Just like in the old days.
